Flooring made of Levapren®
Levapren® products for a wide range of applications
The high temperature and oil resistance of Levapren® makes this elastic material ideal for manufacturing products which come into contact with hot media or hot air such as hoses in car engines.
The material is resistant to temperatures up to 175 °C (according to ASTM standard), a property which is in great demand but is seldom achieved.
The outstanding flame retardance of appropriate halogen-free Levapren® mixtures is not only useful in manufacturing safety cables, it also makes this LANXESS rubber the ideal material for conveyor belts and the like.
EVM-based floor coverings satisfy the requirements of fire protection class B1 to DIN 4102 and have other advantages over other rubber materials. Their saturated molecular backbone makes them extremely weather-resistant. Due to their high polarity, they also have excellent adhesive characteristics.
Levapren® mixtures can be processed using injection molding technology at temperatures of between 190 and 200 °C. The products can also be easily removed from the molds despite the use of peroxide crosslinking agents. The extremely consistent mold filling is a key element in the cost-effective production of high-quality, complex molded parts such as cylinder head cover seals. Levapren® can also be used to manufacture finely structured products.
